Compared to winter tyres, the rubber mixture of the summer tyres is harder, even in high temperatures. Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Original equipment quality: optimum adjustment to the vehicle
Tyres with a special OEM marking on the sidewall, e.g. "MO" for Mercedes-Benz, were developed in cooperation with a specific car manufacturer and the tyre industry. These tyres have been homologated by the vehicle manufacturer and are a perfect match for a specific model. They have been specially designed to highlight or further improve the performance characteristics of the car in question, thus representing the culmination of a state-of-the-art fine-tuning process that perfectly complements the latest technological developments in the automotive industry. Driving within my own ability and the ability of the vehicle I choose to drive is what I do. The tyres on my car are part of the interface between driver and road. I prefer to drive with the tyres fully inflated in order to feel the feedback from the surface of the road through noise, suspension and steering, I ballance throttle and brake response with weather conditions, road conditions and temperature. Tyres with less grip just dictate that I should moderate speed and braking at an increased rate. Noisey tyres provide slightly better feedback than silent tyres. The road with current traffic congestion burden isnt the place for performance spirited driving but is the place where defensive driving must be used. I would describe my tyres as competent.

Performed well in regarded to grip levels both wet and dry, did aquaplane more than the Pirelli&rsquo;s P zeros but absolutely unbearable road noise and harshness. Yes I had 22&rdquo; wheels with a very low profile but when compared to the OEM Pirelli P Zero &amp; Scopions I&rsquo;d avoid these if you want to enjoy your drive.

Superb grip on twisty country roads I&#39;ve had minor spin when pulling away on wet surfaces, but have driven through very wet conditions with no concerns. Noise is more from poor road surfaces than the tyres and they&#39;re very quiet on quality roads. Still surprised by how little they&#39;ve worn in 6 months.

Smooth ride. Incredible grip that even prevents the traction control from engaging in brisk pull aways from a standstill. (My car is FWD). The only negative with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is that tyre wear does appear to be slightly higher than with a regular tyre.

I&#39;ve driven roughly 22,000km as this was when i would of rebuilt the engine and got the car ready for road, by far these are the best tyres I&#39;ve ever experienced on a car, I had used continentals and dunlop&#39;s beforehand, 2 competitors to Michelin, and before now, I always struggled with understeer under sharp cornering after periods of rain, with the PS4&#39;s, this has been completely eradicated, wet grip is by far the best in its class, with not much coming against it, usually the car would also break grip in wet conditions when in low gears speeding up, this has also vanished, in terms of lifespan, there is roughly 5mm left on the tyres after 22k km, so lifespan is also excellent. I am very confident in using these tyres and will be purchasing again once it comes time to replace.

I originally picked Fulda Sport Control 2 because they had the lowest noise rating of any tyre I could find in comparisons. Some other tyres have a low noise rating but quieter tyres are hard to find. Fulda are a German manufactured brand which puts them in a different league from the tyres made in 3rd world countries in terms of quality but they&#39;re also middle priced so you&#39;re getting a good tyre for a good price. I&#39;ve now had these all round on 3 cars and driven them over many years and 10s of thousands of miles and unless something better comes along I&#39;ll be sticking with them for the moment. Aside from being quiet I can&#39;t fault them on grip and wear although if they were less grippy or faster wearing I&#39;d be prepared to accept that in return for the quieter running. A lot of modern cars have wheels which are far too large and the Fulda Sport Control 2 helps to mitigate the noise created by wide low profile tyres making the car much nicer to drive.

It&#39;s a fine set of tyres. I don&#39;t push the car so can&#39;t really comment on its braking abilities and I haven&#39;t taken enough statistics to confirm any fuel efficiency differences from the manufacturer-provided tyres. However I can confirm that the moment I drove away from the garage with the new tyres, it was noticeably quieter, enough that some in my family noticed. Since buying the tyres the main roads to work have been torn up and the current temporary roads are really quite bad and will probably tear up the tyres far faster than normal roads would... who knows how bad the noise in the car would have been with the old ones.

A great performing tyre for the cost. Only area of concern is on damp roads and losing grip under hard acceleration (front wheel drive car, with lots of diesel torque). Very quiet compared to my last factory fitted Michelin.

Probably the worst tyres I&#39;ve owned. I read a number of reviews before buying these and they all claimed the tyres were decent, especially for the price, but my account is not like this. The grip in the wet or damp is shocking, the bald (and punctured as it turns out) runflat Bridgestones that they replaced genuinely had more grip. Even after the tyres bedded in they didn&#39;t improve. The width is poor, they almost look stretched and this leaves the rims exposed to any slight scuff immediately. I won&#39;t be buying these again, infact they will be coming off next month and they&#39;ve only been on 6 months and covered 2k miles. If you want a tyre in this price range Do yourself a favour and buy Kumoho or Avon.

Push the pedal down when needed. Sometimes agresive start to clean off old rubber. Nexen tyres in use for rear. Plenty of thread left. Will do another 13000k miles.

Very quite tyre, only downside is there's no rim protection so I'm keening the tyres more. Previous tyres were Dunlop SP01 which were very noisy but had rim protection which saved keening my alloys.

Never before had tyres only last 6500kms on my WRX thought it was my wheel alignment had that checked and it was fine massive camber ware when I&#39;m only running 0.5 neg and rear tyres are at less then 50% left so definitely would not recommend at all cheap yes gets you outta trouble but not worth it
