Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Bought a used Mazda last year with these tyres appearing to be the originals from manufacture. Have covered 2000 miles since purchasing the car and feel the tyres grip in dry conditions is reassuring good, even at winter season temperatures but this becomes less so in the wet, noticeably negotiating corners and bends, though in a straight line at least they cope well with dispersing standing water. Regard road noise I&#39;d rate them as average for a summer sports tyre, with a background rubble particularly on rural roads which have recently been surface dressed. The car is low mileage having only covered 15000 miles in just over four years since registration and the tyres are wearing well with around 5mm of tread remaining on average front and rear, however in the last couple of months cracks have started to appear between and in the outer tread blocks on all four tyres, though more so at the front, despite the tyre pressures being regularly checked and the car not driven harshly. Suspect they will need replacing for the next MOT and well before they have worn out when it comes to tread depth, so I&#39;ve only given them one star for wear particularly as the DOT code suggests the tyres were manufactured in September 2018, making them not particularly old tyres. Therefore I will defiantly be looking for tyres from another manufacturer next time around with these Toyo&#39;s appearing to show signs of such prematurely aging, along with their not so reassuring levels of grip on damp roads.
